Intentional Play Time is the facilitation of recreational activities for children, elders & disabled adults/children in order to nurture engagement through play.
The recreational activities are tailored to the population served & is designed to encourage growth and exploration.
Intentional Play Time is scheduled by a parent, guardian or coordinator. The facilitator will travel to the home of either a school age child, an elder or disabled adult/child who has been signed up by a parent or guardian to engage in a recreational activities date. The activities will occur for two to four hours. Activities Include: arts & crafts, games & spontaneous activities. Spontaneous activities for children would consist of puppet shows, building blocks & Legos etc. Spontaneous activities for adults would consist of floor or table size puzzles, match cards & board games etc.
Noby Davis graduated from Harold Washington college in May of 2006 & has worked over 20 years in various areas of children & family services, adult programs & senior services. Ms. Davis has volunteered at foster care agencies as a Therapeutic Mentor, After-School Program Enrichment Instructor, served as a Paraprofessional in Special Education, Early Childhood Education & Elementary Education. Ms. Davis has experience as a Behavior Technician, Activities Facilitator in Senior Homes, a Residential Care Worker for children/adult programs, provided Respite Support Services to children & supervised court mandated family visits as a Case Aide. Ms. Davis has committed her life to serving in areas where there is a true authentic need; her passion for service has led to the creation of a recreational pastime in order to bring fun recreational activities into the homes of underserved populations.
